Hey everyone,
I used to think I had to keep my different health issues separate. Three separate blogs, separate email lists… separate everything.
As much work as I do empowering people with chronic health issues, there was still a part of me that felt embarrassed that I’ve had so many “different” problems.
Well, some of my amazing coaching clients have shown me recently that that isn’t true. They’ve been reading through all my writing on different topics, without my pointing them to it, and asking the most *insightful* questions.
And you know what? After all this time, it turns out my health issues were never really “separate,” anyway. My mysterious episodes of chronic pain, SI joint dysfunction that was more extreme than anyone else’s, and mast cell activation syndrome…
….are ALL actually associated with hypermobility.
Getting my hypermobility diagnosis was like the final piece that put everything in place. I thought of myself as someone with so many different “problems” because I was experiencing all of the ramifications, without the right information to support me.
And now, I see that is so true for so many of you out there, too.
Because of everything I’ve learned, I’m often the first one to tell my clients about hypermobility, and help to identify many of the signs and symptoms in their own lives.
I wish it wasn’t this way– but I’m so glad I’m able to help.
It’s like somehow reaching back in time and creating a better world for that person I once was. That girl who was scared to see yet another physical therapist for her SI joints, because no one could help her and she felt like a freak.
I choose to lift others up, because I want to make sure no one else fell where I fell.
And it means so, SO much to me to know that it’s working.
