Here is a collection of posts I wrote to help you understand the nervous system, and how it works to produce the experience of pain.
The first few are imagery-based, using metaphor to illustrate important concepts:

These posts, on the other hand, are a little bit more academic. I was inspired to write them after I took my undergraduate neuroscience class (which was so fascinating!).
